The Appalachian Institute of Digital Evidence Information Security Working Group seeks to promote the field of Information Security. While there are many ‘hacker cons’ AIDE is the only conference that seeks to bridge the gap between the Info Sec professional working in the field and the academic Info Sec professional working in universities.
The AIDE Information Security Section is composed of professionals involved in information security in the public and private sector. These professionals come from many different backgrounds including security researchers, security management, security assessments, and those looking to break into the information security field.
The goal of AIDE Information Security Section is to bring together top researchers to share knowledge and to promote the field of Information Security with conferences and interactions with professional in overlapping field such as Digital Forensics and Electronic Discovery. The group also seeks to educate the general public on Information Security topics as they relate to the general use of computers and the Internet, and the threats they face online.
